Alta New River Breaks Ground at 100 SW 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale
Alta Developers has broken ground on Alta New River, a 35-story, 400-unit mixed-use tower at 100 SW 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

Construction began in early November 2026 on Alta New River, a 35-story, 400-unit mixed-use tower at 100 SW 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Completion is targeted for Q4 2028. Alta Developers is developing, with architecture by Dorsky + Yue International.

The multifamily tower will rise 380 feet, with ground-floor retail. Units average about 840 square feet. A nine-story garage provides 460 spaces. Greystar will manage the property; One Line Design Studio is handling interiors.

Alta secured a $140.2 million senior construction loan from JVP Management, replacing a 2023 loan and increasing it by $129.8 million. The developer bought the one-acre site for $20.8 million in 2022 from a Bizzi & Partners and Silverback Development JV, which assembled it for $12 million in 2017. First proposed in 2017, the project has now closed on its construction financing. It is Alta's third residential project in Fort Lauderdale.
Amenities include a resort-style pool, cabana deck, outdoor kitchen, fitness center, co-working lounge, club rooms, and spa.
The site sits two blocks south of the New River, just east of the Brightline tracks and near downtown.
