St. John's Episcopal has broken ground on its South Tampa campus at 240 S. Plant Ave in Hyde Park. The three-story academic building totals roughly 90,000 square feet. St. John's Parish Inc. is the owner, with Cooper Johnson Smith Peterson Architects as architect. The groundbreaking took place in October.

The campus consolidates two of the school's three campuses onto the Plant Avenue site. The academic building includes classrooms, science and STEAM facilities, arts and performance areas, a multipurpose hall, a cafeteria with commercial kitchen, and a student wellness center. Outdoor features include play fields, a turf field, and a pavilion.

The project also includes a parking garage and underground stormwater infrastructure. Phasing runs academic building first, then garage, then turf field. Barr & Barr is general contractor; Walter P. Moore is structural engineer.

A capital campaign has raised $14 million. Completion is expected ahead of the 2028-2029 school year, when the school plans to occupy the campus.
