VA Awards Lease for Sarasota Clinic at Lakewood Ranch Blvd

The VA has awarded a lease for the Sarasota VA Outpatient Clinic at 2390 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. CMI Cullinan JV LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business joint venture between Cullinan Properties, Ltd. and Construction Managers, Inc., will develop, own and lease the two-story, developer-reported 135,000-square-foot outpatient clinic to the VA, which will operate it through the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. The VA puts the finished facility at 109,688 square feet of space. Leo A Daly is the architect.

The clinic will offer primary care, mental health, audiology, optometry, dental, physical and occupational therapy, prosthetics, laboratory testing, pharmacy, telehealth and diagnostic services. Hoar Construction is general contractor and Vanasse Hangen Brustlin is civil engineer.

The facility replaces the Sarasota VA Clinic at 5682 Bee Ridge Road, less than 12 miles away. It is projected to serve more than 120,000 veterans annually and employ about 200 people, per VA documents. It will allow Bay Pines VA to fully implement the Patient Aligned Care Team model.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2027, with completion scheduled for summer 2029 and first patients in fall 2029. The VA projects construction beginning in late 2027. The award is Construction Managers Inc.'s 19th VA clinic project.
