315-Unit Mixed-Use Project Proposed for Buckhead Village

Middleburg Communities has proposed a six-story mixed-use development at 3110 Maple Drive NE in Buckhead Village. The project, Middleburg Buckhead Village Apartments, would include 315 residential units and roughly 7,100 square feet of street-level retail. Dynamik Design is the architect.

This is the second metro Atlanta project for Virginia-based Middleburg. The design team also includes B+C Studio and Kimley-Horn. The 2.23-acre site is zoned SPI-9, Subarea 3.

The project would raze two buildings, including the Atlanta Police Department Zone 2 precinct at 3120 Maple Drive. Current tenants include Georgia Eye Associates, Margaret Schwenke-Authentic Nourishment, and Chestney & Sullivan Law Firm. A parking deck would be accessed from Maple Drive and Shadowlawn Avenue, with 25 shared spaces.

The project was presented for an initial read to Buckhead's SPI-9 Development Review Committee, which reviews projects in the district for design compliance. Further committee presentations and city permitting follow before construction can begin.
