Affordable Housing Grant Amendments Head to Full Metro Council
Metro Council's Planning and Zoning Committee recommended approval of affordable housing grant amendments and contracts covering projects across Nashville-Davidson County.

The Planning and Zoning Committee recommended approval of a package of affordable housing grant amendments and contracts at its September 14, 2026 meeting, sending the items to the full Metro Council. The action covers multiple grant contract amendments countywide, not a single development.

The amendments tie to affordable housing construction and the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, which oversees the Barnes Housing Trust Fund. Recipients include the Be a Helping Hand Foundation and Urban Housing Solutions. The Be a Helping Hand amendments cover projects at 2124 14th Avenue North and 5050 Linbar Drive.

The action is part of Metro's broader affordable housing funding push, including the record $40.2 million Barnes Fund Round 16, which awarded funding for 1,106 affordable homes across 14 nonprofits. The program's current cycle runs through December 2026.
If the full Council approves, the amended contracts will govern distribution and administration of grant funds by the recipient organizations.
