AXIAL Commerce Station Building 1 Under Construction in Huntersville

AXIAL Commerce Station Industrial Building 1 is under construction at 12705 Commerce Station Dr in Huntersville, roughly 15 miles north of Uptown Charlotte along I-77. The 327,261-square-foot facility is co-developed by Crescent Communities and GTIS Partners, with architecture by Merriman Schmitt. Construction began in January 2026, with completion expected by December 31, 2026.

The building carries a $35.7 million permit valuation within a project estimated at more than $50 million. It measures 1,154 feet by 275 feet with a 36-foot clear height, a 130-foot shared truck court, ESFR sprinklers, LED lighting with motion sensors, two drive-in doors, and knockout panels. Plans call for 293 auto parking spaces and 54 trailer stalls. The building is designed to be LEED-ready.

Building 1 is the first of two at the AXIAL Commerce Station campus, which will total 465,036 square feet on 42.3 acres. The partners acquired nearly 49 acres for $7.5 million. Financial partners include Chuo Nittochi Group as equity partner and United Bank as lender. The Huntersville Planning Board recommended rezoning in February 2025.

The project is expected to create more than 250 jobs once delivered.
