Ares' 341-Unit Plaza Midwood Project Under Construction
Ares Management's seven-story, 341-unit mixed-use project at 1815 Central Ave in Plaza Midwood is under construction, with completion expected in 2028.
The 1817 Central multifamily project is under construction at 1815 Central Ave in Plaza Midwood. The seven-story mixed-use development from Ares Management will deliver 341 units across 269,583 square feet of rentable space, with completion expected by the end of 2028.
Construction began in late December 2025 under a $45.4 million building permit. Units range from studios to three-bedrooms, averaging 791 square feet. A wrap-style parking garage provides 472 spaces.
Amenities include a fitness center, rooftop sky lounge with outdoor space, courtyards, a library and a pet spa. Ares acquired the 2.5-acre site for $18.5 million in September 2025. It was previously home to Midwood Elementary School, built in the 1930s and since demolished.
Financing includes a $69.4 million four-year floating-rate construction loan from United Bank, arranged by JLL Capital Markets.
