Mandarin Oriental Residences Breaks Ground on Brickell Key

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami has broken ground at 500 Brickell Key Drive and 750 Claughton Island Drive. The 66-story, 850-foot tower will deliver 298 residential units, 121 hotel rooms, and 1,286,326 square feet of new construction. Swire Properties is the developer, with design by Kohn Pedersen Fox.

The October 6 groundbreaking followed the April 12 controlled implosion of the former Mandarin Oriental hotel on the 3.5-acre waterfront site. Moss is general contractor; SHMA is landscape architect. The master building permit lists an estimated construction cost of $226 million. Completion is scheduled for 2030.

A 100,000-square-foot multi-tiered amenity podium includes 11 pools, private cabanas, a wellness deck with hot tub and cold plunge, a hammock garden, a forest yoga lawn, meditation gardens, and tea and dining pavilions. Other amenities: chef-driven restaurants, a private dining room with wine cellar, a sports court for basketball, pickleball, and padel, a signature spa, and outdoor treatment cabanas. Tristan Auer designed South Tower interiors; Laura Gonzalez designed the North Tower.

Residential sales have surpassed $1.7 billion. The project is Swire's largest luxury residential development to date and its first branded residential project globally.
