The tower was designed for an 18,870-square-foot lot that previously held an automotive building. Plans called for 99 residences, including 40 workforce housing units, meeting the Live Local Act's 40 percent workforce housing threshold in exchange for height and density bonuses. The site is owned by 740 Alton Road LLC, a GFO-affiliated entity.

The withdrawal came alongside two other Galbut-affiliated Live Local projects in Miami Beach, at 1575 Alton Road and 880 71st Street. City staff had stopped review of the applications over height or density concerns before the withdrawals were filed. The 740 Alton Road site has no active development proposal on file.
