A Gencom and White Bridge Capital joint venture acquired the 652-room InterContinental Miami at 100 Chopin Plaza in downtown Miami for a reported $300 million in October 2026. The seller, an entity tracing to Strategic Hotels & Resorts and owned by China's Dajia Insurance Group, had held the asset since 2005.

The 34-story, 465,000-square-foot tower was built in 1983 and designed by Pietro Belluschi. Its 652 rooms include 22 suites ranging from roughly 850 square feet to the 2,800-square-foot Presidential and Royal Suites; standard rooms average about 405 square feet.

The hotel offers roughly 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space across 35 meeting rooms, plus a rooftop pool, cabanas, the Club InterContinental Lounge and the SkyLawn outdoor event space. Room interiors, the lounge, cabanas and SkyLawn were recently renovated; the new owners plan lobby and F&B updates.

The deal is Gencom's second InterContinental-branded property, following its late-2025 purchase of the InterContinental New York Times Square.
