Fort Worth Housing Plan Hits 62% of 5,000-Unit Goal
Fort Worth Housing Solutions has completed 3,120 of 5,000 targeted affordable units since its five-year housing plan took effect in 2024.

Fort Worth Housing Solutions has completed 3,120 of the 5,000 units targeted under its five-year housing plan, which runs through 2028. The figure, 62% of the citywide goal, was presented by Lanesha Combs, vice president of housing operations, at the Sept. 17 board of commissioners meeting as part of the 2027 Public Housing Agency Plan.
Completed projects include Ramble & Rose, Skyline Prairie Homes and Jefferson Elara across several Fort Worth ZIP codes. Another 1,154 affordable units were completed this year or are under construction; the agency reported 2,843 units under construction during 2025.
The agency distributed 6,430 housing vouchers last year. Its Family Self-Sufficiency program has enrolled 157 households, with 27 graduating to homeownership.
Two workforce programs launched alongside the housing efforts: a CVS pharmacy technician training program and a MetroHealth medical assistant training program. The plan remains on track for its 2028 target.
