The Gathering at South Forsyth Under Construction in Alpharetta
Site work is underway on The Gathering at South Forsyth, a mixed-use district anchored by an 18,500-seat arena at 1595 Union Hill Road in Alpharetta.

The Gathering at South Forsyth, a mixed-use development at 1595 Union Hill Road in Alpharetta, is under construction. The project includes 2,400 residential units, a 500-room hotel and 1.6 million square feet of office and retail space. Krause Sports & Entertainment is developing, with master planning and design by NELSON Worldwide.
Site work began in September 2026, with grading of 90-plus acres expected to run about five months. Vertical construction is planned for summer 2027. The centerpiece is an 18,500-seat arena, expandable to 20,000 for concerts, totaling roughly 700,000 square feet at an estimated $700 million. The NHL-ready arena could be completed around May 2029.

Forsyth County approved up to $225 million in TAD financing, contingent on landing an NHL franchise. Voters approved the TAD referendum in November 2024. FRCH Design Worldwide is arena architect; ASM Global is project manager.
Amenities include retail and dining. Modeled after The Battery Atlanta, the district is moving forward even without an NHL commitment: developer Vernon Krause has said the project will proceed with or without a team.
