Microsoft has proposed the ATL80 Data Center Campus at 0 Huffaker Road in Rome, Floyd County: three buildings totaling up to 1,659,000 square feet on 349 acres, with completion expected in 2032.

DRI #4860 was submitted to the Georgia DCA on October 20, 2026, and certified for regional review two days later. Georgia Power would supply 422 MW via an on-site substation and transmission line extension, with diesel-only backup generators. Estimated build-out value is $360 million. The campus is projected to employ 150 full-time workers and generate $35 million in annual local tax revenue.

Maximum daily water demand is estimated at 13,500 gallons from Floyd County sources, including Old Mill Spring and groundwater. Wastewater demand is estimated at 10,200 gallons per day.

Microsoft acquired the property in 2023 under the working name Project Firecracker. The company says it will forgo previously approved tax abatements and pay all local taxes owed. Floyd County adopted an ordinance on August 25, 2026 limiting data centers to heavy industrial zoning with a 600-foot residential setback.
