Beltline Reveals 5 Options for Murphy Crossing MARTA Infill Station
Atlanta Beltline, Inc. reveals five options for a proposed MARTA infill station at Murphy Crossing, the 20-plus-acre site at 1050 Murphy Avenue SW, where demolition for a 625-unit mixed-use redevelopment is expected to begin by year-end.

Atlanta Beltline, Inc. has revealed five options for a proposed MARTA infill station at Murphy Crossing, a 625-unit mixed-use development planned at 1050 Murphy Avenue SW. The 20-plus-acre site sits along the Beltline corridor. Atlanta Beltline, Inc. owns the site and serves as master planner and co-developer, with site design by Perkins & Will.
The 625 units are down from 1,100 under the earlier Culdesac proposal, terminated in January 2025. The plan adds 82,000 square feet of commercial and office space, 70,000 square feet of retail, and 103,000 square feet of light industrial. Parking totals 1,711 spaces, 786 non-residential. The earlier proposal reserved 30 percent of units as affordable at 60 to 80 percent AMI.

The site is fully entitled following a rezoning to I-Mix and a completed Development of Regional Impact review. The full buildout is planned in five phases. Phase 1 covers demolition, a 1.4-acre stormwater park, and adaptive reuse of the historic Archives and Curved Brick buildings. Beltline officials expect demolition to begin before the end of the year, with most demolition finished in the first quarter of 2027.
The proposed MARTA infill station would create the first direct connection between MARTA rail and the Beltline loop. Seven alternatives were studied and two eliminated as unfeasible, leaving five options. A scoping study expected to cost $800,000 to $900,000, covered by Tax Allocation District dollars, aims to identify a preferred alternative by next summer. A virtual public comment period is open through Nov. 30.
