552-Unit Apartment Community Approved in Pinellas Park
MAST Capital won approval for a 552-unit apartment community at 10222 MCI Drive in Pinellas Park, with 221 affordable units planned.

City staff approved a preliminary site plan September 30 for a 552-unit apartment community at 10222 MCI Drive in Pinellas Park. Miami-based MAST Capital is developing the project, which would become the city's largest apartment community.
The project redevelops a 31-acre site containing a three-story, 124,983-square-foot former MCI call center. Plans call for nine four-story residential buildings with a maximum height of 50 feet, with units ranging from studios to three-bedrooms.
At least 221 units, or 40 percent, will be reserved for households at or below 120 percent of area median income for 30 years. The remaining 331 units will be market rate. The development includes 847 parking spaces.
Construction is planned in two phases. Phase 1: 388 units, a 9,543-square-foot clubhouse and 600 parking spaces. Phase 2: 164 units, a 7,186-square-foot clubhouse and 247 spaces. Amenities include two clubhouses, pickleball courts, a pedestrian walkway along McCann Lake and three stormwater ponds. Kimley-Horn handled the site plan application; Atwell prepared civil engineering plans.
