In September 2026, the Kyle City Council approved a settlement ending a six-year lawsuit filed in 2020 by the Save Our Springs Alliance over alleged Texas Open Meetings Act violations. The settlement removed a proposed $30 million Blanco River bridge, a major point of environmental contention. The site sits over the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone, about four miles west of I-35 and downtown Kyle.
