Moody Children's Hospital Breaks Ground on Harry Hines
Moody Children's Hospital, a 12-story, 5 million sq ft pediatric campus from Children's Health and UT Southwestern, is under construction in Dallas's Southwestern Medical District.
Moody Children's Hospital is under construction at Harry Hines Blvd. and Paul M. Bass Way in Dallas's Southwestern Medical District. The 12-story, 5 million sq ft campus from Children's Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center is slated for completion by December 31, 2031. Perkins&Will is the architect.
The hospital will house a Level I pediatric trauma center and a 90-exam-room emergency department with 24 observation rooms. Other components: a 96-bed Level IV NICU, a cardiovascular ICU, and a fetal care center with fetal surgery capabilities. A two-story surgical suite will hold 20 operating rooms and 122 pre- and post-operative rooms.

The campus also includes a 96-exam-room outpatient facility, two helicopter pads, and parking for 6,500 vehicles. A 14,000 sq ft skyway will link the hospital to the adjacent Clements University Hospital. Plans call for green space throughout.
The site sits near DART's Green and Orange Line Southwestern Medical District/Parkland station, with Interstate 35E bordering the district to the east.
