Pennrose has begun construction on Herndon Square Phase III, a 178-unit, five-story residential project at 527 Herndon Square Avenue in English Avenue, near the former Herndon Homes public housing site. Thriven Design is the architect.
Of the 178 units, 151 are affordable. Completion is targeted for June 30, 2027. The project is part of the multi-phase Herndon Homes redevelopment Pennrose is executing with Atlanta Housing.
Amenities include a fitness center, business and learning center, community room, dog wash, interior courtyard, covered picnic area, and enclosed parking deck. Supportive services will be offered on-site. The project is pursuing EarthCraft Multifamily and ENERGY STAR certification.
The site fronts Northside Drive, within reach of the Vine City MARTA station (Blue/Green lines) and bus service along the corridor.
