Chamber of Commerce Building Sells for $1.4M at Sheriff's Sale
The 16-story Chamber of Commerce Building at 411 Seventh Avenue downtown sold to its CMBS lender for $1.4 million, about $4 per square foot, at a November 2 sheriff's sale.

The Chamber of Commerce Building at 411 Seventh Avenue sold at a sheriff's sale on November 2, 2026. A Goldman Sachs-affiliated CMBS trust, the property's lender, bought back the 16-story, 269-foot tower for $1.4 million, roughly $4 per square foot on 316,482 square feet.
The redbrick tower was built in 1916-1917, commissioned by Pittsburgh business magnate and U.S. Senator George T. Oliver and designed by architects Edward B. Lee and James P. Piper. It long served as Duquesne Light Company headquarters until the utility vacated in late 2024.
The property entered receivership in April 2026 after a mortgage maturity default, with previous owner 411 Seventh Avenue Associates LP facing foreclosure. The building was appraised at $14.1 million in June 2026, down 56.1 percent from its closing value.
The tower includes a 14,711-square-foot conference center, 5,425 square feet of ground-floor retail, and a 24/7 attended lobby with onsite management.
