The East Bank Development Authority has approved the Marine Drive Extension, a new roadway running from Cowan Street to Dickerson Pike (SR-11/US-41) beneath I-24. HNTB serves as lead designer, with American Structurepoint as lead civil engineering designer.
The project is part of the broader infrastructure buildout supporting East Bank redevelopment across the Cumberland River from downtown. With approval in place, it moves into design and construction, with completion expected June 30, 2029.
The corridor ties into Dickerson Pike, a major arterial running northeast from downtown, and passes under I-24 for interstate access. WeGo Public Transit bus routes operate along Dickerson Pike.
