Foundation Communities Breaks Ground on 101-Unit Lamar Square Project
Foundation Communities has started construction on The Bloom at Lamar Square, a 101-unit affordable housing project at 1326-1328 Lamar Square Drive in South Austin.
The Bloom at Lamar Square, a 101-unit affordable housing development, is under construction at 1326-1328 Lamar Square Drive in 78704, just west of South Lamar Boulevard. Foundation Communities is developing the project, with design by Forge Craft Architecture & Design. The project, previously tracked as proposed, has moved into active construction.
The 108,301-square-foot building will be 100% affordable, with completion expected November 30, 2027.
Amenities and resident services include a learning center, on-site case management, a physical therapy and day rehabilitation center, a food pantry, and a fitness facility—consistent with Foundation Communities' model of pairing affordable housing with supportive programming.
The site sits near the South Lamar corridor, a primary north-south route to downtown, surrounded by retail, restaurants, and existing multifamily.
