The facility will house a new museum and interpretive experience with expanded interpretation of the site's history, plus restored historic spaces throughout the property.

Site improvements include an outdoor amphitheater and a climate-controlled Visitor Comfort Facility with seating, snacks, and restrooms. A tree-lined approach and re-oriented walking paths will reshape visitor circulation.
Previously tracked as a proposal, the approval is the first formal green light for the overhaul, clearing the foundation to advance design and construction planning.
