The former Lakewood Heights Elementary School at 335 Sawtell Ave. SE has been approved for adaptive reuse as a 55-unit, 3-story mixed-use building totaling 54,721 square feet. Atlanta Urban Development Corporation is the developer, with architecture by Historical Concepts.

Site features include a courtyard, on-street parking, and pedestrian-friendly design. The unit count now includes one affordable unit, up from zero previously reported.

The site sits near Jonesboro Road, the main corridor through Lakewood Heights, south of downtown and near the Lakewood amphitheater district.
