Hartsfield-Jackson Breaks Ground on $1.3B Capital Upgrades

A $1.3 billion bond-funded upgrade program at Hartsfield-Jackson is under construction, with completion targeted for June 2029.

The $1.3 billion Hartsfield-Jackson Capital Upgrades program, funded through Series 2026 Bonds under the ATLNext initiative, is under construction at 6000 N. Terminal Pkwy. The City of Atlanta is developing the 231,000-square-foot package, with Corgan as architect.

Scope includes expanded gate areas and hold rooms, a 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club, a new parking deck, upgraded restrooms, and self-tinting smart windows. Completion is set for June 30, 2029.

The Series 2026A-1 and 2026B-1 issuances carry a Green Bonds designation, meeting environmental sustainability criteria. The program moved from proposed status into active construction following approval.
