Metro Nashville's $100M Phase 2 capital package is under construction, with full Choose How You Move buildout now targeted for 2040—pushed back from 2027.
Metro Nashville's Choose How You Move Transportation Improvement Program is under construction across Davidson County. The $100 million Capital Investment Package (Phase 2) has moved from approval into active construction, with full program completion now targeted for December 31, 2040—extended from a previously reported 2027 date. Metro Nashville is developing the program, with HDR serving as architect.
The program includes 54 miles of high-capacity transit, 285 bus stop enhancements, 592 smart traffic signals, and 86 miles of new or upgraded sidewalks, plus 10 All-Access Corridors and 12 future transit centers.
The Donelson Transit Center, among the first transit center projects, will feature six bus bays, covered and climate-controlled waiting areas, digital signage, and ticket vending machines. Other components include an expanded WeGo Access paratransit fleet and the Journey Pass fare-free transit program.
The program also funds Complete Streets projects, Railroad Quiet Zones, bicycle racks, and micromobility and bikeshare docking stations. Work continues in phases through the 2040 target.
