The University of Miami received approval for Gables Village and Campus Hospital, a mixed-use expansion at 1300 Memorial Drive in Coral Gables. The 10-story, 429-unit project is developed by the university with architecture by Arquitectonica.

The building will rise 141 feet and total 573,804 square feet, combining student housing with a campus hospital component. It is among the larger redevelopment efforts on the university's main campus in recent years and has moved from proposal to approved status.

Amenities include study lounges, classrooms, recreational and wellness spaces, dining, and common areas. Completion is expected June 30, 2029.

The site sits along Memorial Drive near Ponce de Leon Boulevard and US-1, served by the University Metrorail station.
