A boutique hotel conversion has been proposed for the historic Miami-Dade County Courthouse at 73 W Flagler St in downtown Miami. The 28-story, 361-foot building is being formally tracked for the first time, with floor count and height now on record.
The plan repurposes the courthouse interior while retaining its historic character. The former courtroom would become the hotel lobby, preserving one of the building's most distinctive spaces.
Amenities include lobby restaurants and a penthouse condo at the top of the building, giving the property a mixed-use profile within a single historic structure.
Completed in the 1920s, the courthouse was once Florida's tallest building and is a designated historic landmark, subjecting any conversion to preservation review. The site is served by the Flagler Street Metromover station and Government Center, which connects Metrorail, Metromover, and Brightline several blocks north. Multiple Metrobus routes run along Flagler Street and Biscayne Boulevard.
