Charlotte officials have proposed a $125 million housing bond under the Charlotte 2026 Affordable Housing Funding Policy. The measure would apply citywide and remains in proposed status.

The bond would finance construction and preservation of income-restricted units, support the Housing Trust Fund, and leverage private development dollars for affordable projects.

Voters approved housing bonds in 2018, 2020, and 2022, each funding production through the Housing Trust Fund. The 2026 proposal continues that cycle.

If approved by City Council, the bond goes to voters in a referendum, the standard path for a general obligation bond of this size.
