Piedmont Healthcare has proposed relocating Piedmont Newton Hospital to the intersection of SR-142 and Hazelbrand Road in Covington, Newton County.
The new facility would have 355 beds, three additional operating room suites, and expanded surface parking. The existing campus operates a 32-bed emergency department.
Piedmont Newton currently operates as a Level III NICU and a Primary Stroke Center; both services would move to the new site. The project remains in the proposed stage.
The site sits on SR-142, a primary corridor through Newton County, providing highway access from Covington and surrounding communities.
